We have made updates to the patient portal messaging system to better the workflow for the patient when communicating with the practice as well as sending direct communication with outside providers.
The patient portal messaging function was not patient centric. The workflow and usability have been improved to provide a better portal experience.
To communicate directly with the practice the portal user can click on the new message icon on the message card or select messaging from the left navigation menu. From the main message function, the users will see their past messages with the ability to forward, reply and print the message.
Creating a new message will now focus on communicating directly to a practice staff member.
The following fields have been simplified as follows:
Messages have now been grouped to track the back-and-forth communication to the practice
ChartLogic has moved the direct messaging in the patient portal to the Chart Clinical Document card.
How:
From the Clinical Document Card select Chart Document button.
From the Chart Document the portal users can view, download, and message a CCDA.
To use the portal direct messaging, select the message icon within the clinical document card.
The fields to send a direct message are as follows:
Sending the message will automatically include the CCD as an attachment.
ChartLogic has also included the transmission history for tracking the messages a patient sends outside the practice from the portal.
