New Chart/Note Tab Order

What:

ChartLogic has made improvements to the tab workflow within the chart and note. You can now also hit enter in parts of the notes to prevent having to tab or use the mouse.

Why:

Many users are more keyboard driven in their workflow. The new tab order allows the user to move seamlessly between the chart and note cards. This new workflow allows users to move fluently while entering data with specific cards. Previously, the tab order did not fit the workflow needed to work through a note quickly and efficiently.

How:

When entering a note, the tab order navigates through the card navigation buttons. Below are the details for each card type.

Text type cards: the focus will be in the note text field to begin documenting without additional clicks.

Code Entry cards:(like the problems card) the focus will start on add record. Enter will open the card tab once the user is in the code search field. Type a code or work then tab will bring back the list of codes. The user can use the down arrows to access the desired code. Enter will add the code moving through the remainder of the card tabbing in the existing data order.

Data entry cards: (like the vitals card) the tab order will first land on Add record-> enter with open the card-> tabbing will take the user through the fields. Hitting enter within the card in a text box will add and save the data without tabbing to the add button.
