Patients can now confirm or cancel an appointment directly from their notifications and reminders. They can also confirm or cancel from their patient portal.
Patient engagement is about giving patients the ability to complete tasks and manage their healthcare on their own and assist the office with tasks. Being able to confirm or cancel an appointment without needing to call an office saves customers time and makes them more likely not to miss appointments but rather reschedule them. This also reduces the need for a practice to call patients to confirm appointments. This feature lets patients confirm or cancel an appointment through notifications and reminders.
We have made it simple for patients to confirm/cancel their appointments through their reminders.
Each of the communication methods have the confirm/cancel ability.
When a patient receives an appointment reminder text, there will be a note at the end of the message informing the recipient to reply with Confirm or cancel. By responding to the text message with confirm or cancel the patient can confirm or cancel their appointment.
When you receive an appointment reminder email, there will be a link at the end of the email that will let you confirm or cancel your appointment. To confirm your appointment, click on Confirm. To Cancel your appointment, click on cancel.
You will then see a confirmation message that you have confirmed or cancelled your appointment.
To cancel an appointment from a voice message you will need to press 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel your appointment.
While logged into your patient portal you will see your upcoming appointments. Click on your appointment.
In the appointment details screen you will see confirm and cancel at the top right. Click on the action you wish to take.
This will update the status to confirmed/cancelled in the patient portal and in the practice schedule.
