Note Creation

What:

We have added the ability to select a note Date of Service and link a note to an unconfirmed appointment, add a reason for the visit, display appointment information, and added a new additional notes field.

Why:

We made these changes to address a few appointment/DOS related bugs and can capture more data elements for the note.

How:

• You can now select days in the future and the past when creating a note. Selecting this date in the dropdown now becomes the DOS for the note. You can choose up to three days in the past, today, and up to 3 days in the future.
• Linking a scheduled appointment to a note is automatic when selecting a date of service that has an appointment. The appointment drop down will automatically fill in when you select a date of service with an appointment. These appointments are now displayed regardless of the confirm appointment status. The provider on the appointment will be updated if different than the preferred provider in the chart. If the patient has more than one appointment for the date selected, use the appointment drop down to select the appropriate one to be linked to the note.
• We have added a reason for visit when creating a note. This will allow more information about the encounter with the patient. This field is separate than the appointment reason and provides flexibility and insight to the encounter. A column representing this data has been added to the patient note card in the chart
• This note field allows the user to collect any additional information needed during the creation of the note
