Overview

Encounters can either be entered by the biller or the encounter information can be sent from the progress note via EDI from an EHR database with initial data to an encounter form. This section covers entry by the biller. The workflow usually goes as follows upon receiving the day’s encounter forms:

  1. Set up an Encounter Batch (or multiple Batches) in which to enter the Encounters.
  2. Add a new Encounter for each encounter form, entering the Appointment ID to link Encounters to Appointments.
  3. Repeat until all encounter forms have been entered.
