How to Send Patient Information to Destination Database
Log into the application.
Search for the Patient to be sent.
Click on the Patient Menu | Send | DataShare
Define the Destination Patient ID for the Patient that will be sent.
By default, it will populate the Destination Patient ID with the Senders Patient ID.
To alter the Destination Patient ID to another Patient ID, click in the text box next to the Destination Patient ID and Type the desired ID.
To search the Destination Database for the correct patient or to see if the patient already exists in the Destination Database, click the Search button and use the filters to search for your desired Patient.
Select the applicable information to send to the destination database.
By default, under the Patient Information section, Demographics will always be selected as this is required for an initial send and validation thereafter.
You can preview the following items by highlighting the applicable items:
Encounters, Messages, Forms, and Documents.
Once all applicable items have been selected to be shared with the destination database, click the Send button.
NOTES:
If the Patient exists in the Destination Database, all Patient information from the Sending Database will overwrite the Patient information in the Destination Database.
Encounters, Messages, and Forms will be a copy from the Sending Database and will not insert, link, or connect data values other modules within those items in the Destination Database.
Example: Vitals entered in the shared Encounters will not populate an entry/values in the Destination Database’s vitals record for the shared patient.
Documents that are shared are copied from the Sending Database to the Destination Database. They are then editable in the Destination Database.
If a shared document has a Document Type that exists in the Sending Database and not in the Destination Database, then the Document Type will be added to the Destination Database with the shared document.
If an Encounter, Message, Form, or Document has already been sent to the Destination Database, the Check Box next to the item will not be able to be selected to send again.
This is true on the Destination Side as well. If an item in Encounters, Messages, Forms or Documents is received via DataShare it cannot be selected to be sent back to its Originating Database.
