EHR Update Summary

Thursday, November 19th, 2020, we will be pushing out a new ChartLogic EHR update. The updates will start at 10PM MST and are expected to be completed by 2AM MST on Friday, November 20th. During the scheduled update window, you may experience anything from slow response, limited access, or no connectivity; or you may experience no interruption whatsoever.

This version update includes performance improvements to faxing, Dragon and other efficiency issues. See below for the full release notes.

Enhancements 🚀

  • Enabled Strong Passwords to prevent unauthorized use of ChartLogic and to comply with HIPAA rules.
  • Added Dragon option to dictate into an order requisition form.
  • Faxing performance enhancements when clicking send button outside of practice.
  • Added the Date to the Problem SmartField.
  • Updated Active Care Pain List and reduced delay in the active care pane.
  • General performance and efficiency improvements.

Bug Fixes đź”§

  • Fixed errors preventing users to view fax PDFs.
  • Fixed Dragon issue where it stops working in exam when other modules, other than superbill are accessed.
  • Fixed printing patient chart issue causing numbering to differ from finished exam in PDF .

All customers will have the “Password Secure” setting enabled within ChartLogic after this release.

If you already have it enabled, you will not experience any changes. For those that do not have it enabled you will experience a few small changes that will include:

  1. Password Secure set to “Yes” and can no longer be disabled.
  2. Passwords must follow the new standard and include:
    1. 8 character minimum
    2. 1 upper case
    3. 1 lower case
    4. 1 special character (!@#$%^&*(), etc.)
  3. If the password does not meet the standard, users will be forced to change upon login.
  4. Secure passwords will be required when creating new user accounts.

As part of our ongoing commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining a strong security posture, we’re introducing a change that mandates the use of strong passwords in Chartlogic. Brute-force password attacks are increasingly common and by mandating password complexity requirements, we can drastically reduce the odds that a password can be guessed, which could result in a costly breach of financial or patient data.

If you experience any issues updating ChartLogic, please follow these steps for a quick resolution:

  1. Close ChartLogic
  2. Go to:
    C:\Program Files(x86)\ChartLogic\ChartLogic9EHR
  3. Locate the application named “ChartLogicUpdate”
  4. Run the application
  5. Select Update
  6. Update will run and close down by itself
  7. Re-launch ChartLogic
