1424, 1439 – Added configuration setting for Connect Patient Portal

System Configuration
  1. Click Configure
  2. Click Options
  3. Expand System
  4. Click Patient Portal

  1. Select Patient Portal Setting (Connect)

  1. Enter Patient Portal URL
    • Given to Project Manager during Connect Portal Setup.
User Configuration
  1. Click Configure
  2. Click Options
  3. Expand User Accounts
  4. Expand Providers/Users
  5. Select Patient Portal

  1. Enter in Username and Password and whether or not the user see Patient Portal elements on their Main Screen in the left panel.

Patient Information Updates

If the patient has a portal user account, the Patient Information screen will now reflect this. Along with the Identification of the portal user account, a practice user with the Support Role in Connect Patient.

  1. Select Patient
  2. Click Patient Menu
  3. Click Patient Information
    • Note the Portal User Check box and Rest Password button when there is a user account.

1438 – Update Patient Send Menu to work with Connect Patient Portal

When CL8 portal is enabled then the Patient Send menu remains the same.

When Connect Patient is enabled the Patient Send menu appears and function in the following ways.

  1. Following items were removed:
    • Patient Information (CCDA) was removed.
    • Patient Demographics was removed.
  2. Following items were added:
    • Intake Forms
      • Redirects to Connect Patient to the patient detail to select the applicable intake form.
    • Portal Invite
      • Redirects to Connect Patient to the patient detail to send a patient a portal invite.
  3. Following item was improved.
    • C-CDA Direct was improved to allow a custom message to be sent along with a Transition of Care CDA file via direct messaging. See ticket 1456.

1441 – Updated the Refer To screen to send direct messages via Connect Patient Portal when enabled.

  1. When Connect Patient is setup and enable for a practice and a referring provider is selected who has a Direct Message address CL8 will route all direct messages and ToC CDA files to Connect to be sent out.
  2. A Project Manager or trainer will need to work with IT/IS-DevOps to transition CL8 provider’s direct address to a 1.5 version.
    • NOTE: Once migrated to a 1.5 version the provider cannot be rolled back to a 1.3 (Current CL8 version)
  3. All Direct messages sent and received will not be done through the Connect Patient Message inbox.
    • See Ticket 1424, 1439 – Added configuration setting for Connect Patient Portal – User configuration.

1456 – Enhance the send a direct message from the Patient Menu in CL8

  1. Select a Patient
  2. Click the Patient Menu
  3. Click Send
  4. Click C-CDA Direct

  1. A direct message composition screen will open up

  1. Select the Message Recipient by clicking the Message Recipient button
    • This will open the address book to the Physician tab.
  2. Search and select a Physician with a Direct address
  3. Click OK
  4. They Physician will be added to the Recipient field.
  5. Select the appropriate Referral Template make necessary changes to the template
  6. Click Save and Send button to send a Direct message with an attached Transition of Care CDA
    • A ToC CDA will always be sent under this option.
    • If a physician wants to send a direct message without a ToC they need to access their Message inbox in Connect Patient.

1458 – Improved CCDA generation from the Export CCDA function

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Click CCDA Exam Export
  3. Set Date Range
  4. Select Provider
  5. Select if the CCDA’s are for Medicare only.
  6. Click Export when all criteria is set.

Only when Connect Patient is configured will the CCDA Exam Export will export the new CDA file.  Otherwise the CCDA Export will export an older CCDA file structure.

  1. The CL8 user must have an active Connect Patient account.
  2. The Export will export only for one provider at a time for the specified date range.
    • The export will query and download a zipped file for each day within a date range to the specified folder designated prior to the export.

1232 – Updated CL8 to map efficiently Race descriptions to new CMS codes

In preparation to move clients to Connect and to have better CCDA generation we updated the Race list to now pull from a master list that has a CMS required code and description.

During the update the Practice defined Race list was migrated to this new master list.  All Races’ that were not able to be mapped are flagged with *** next to the description.

  1. A Practice should take time after 8.1.15 update to go in and clean-up their system list and ensure that it matches their PM system if setup to send a patient’s race to CL8
    • Log in as an Admin
    • Click Configure
    • Click Options
    • Expand System
    • Click Patient Demographics
      • Expand Race
      • Double-click the “Double-click to add new item row” to open the new Race search list.
      • Pick the updated race to replace any races that didn’t map correctly.
      • Delete the Races that were flagged with ***
  1. A practice user should then make every effort to clean clean-up bad Races attached to a patient’s account upon check-in.
    • Select a patient
    • Click the Patient menu
    • Click Patient Information
    • If there is a Race that didn’t map correctly the Race field will be highlighted red
    • A user will click the selector icon to see races that didn’t map being identified with ***prior to the description
    • A user will need to remove the races with *** and add the correct race.
      • If a race that was attached to a patient cannot be found in the practice list the following should occur:
        • Validate the Race exists in their PM if one is connected
        • Select the Show All Check box
          • Search and select the applicable race
        • Update the practice list as defined above.

    • A user will need to remove the languages with *** and add the correct languages.
      • If a language that was attached to a patient cannot be found in the practice list the following should occur:
        • Validate the language exists in their PM, if one is connected.
        • Select the Show All Check box
          • Search and select the applicable languages
        • Update the practice list as defined above.

1437 – Improved and added more security to Provider Direct addresses

Provider Direct Address will now need to be added by IT/IS or DevOps (Phil or Josh).  This was a required change to improve security within CL8 for Direct Messaging.  The Provider Direct address under Configure | Options | User Accounts | Providers | Select provider | Direct Address is a read only field from the DB.
