A Test Code Preference List is a list of most commonly used test with the practice, facility, or by provider.  Users can define these most commonly used test under the Preference lists.

An admin user can manage the Test Code preference list by going to the Emdeon Portal | Admin | Preference Lists | Test Code.  Within the Test Code Preference List Management screen, an admin can manage the test codes by Facility, Client ID, and Caregiver.

  • To create a new preference list click the Create New Preference List button. This brings up the Create New Test Code Preference List window.

Create a Facility Code Preference List

Complete the Step 1 and Step 4 sections to create a Facility Test Code Preference List.

  • All fields in Step 1 with a blue dot next to them are required to save the list.
  • In the Step 4 Section the admin user will need to search for the applicable tests they wish to have in the preference list.
  • Clicking on the Search icon will open the Test Code Search window where the admin can search the selected Lab’s (as defined in Step 1) available tests.  It is recommend to search by description as this will help bring more results under the Step 2 section of the Test Code Search window.

  • Once the results have been displayed the admin user can select one or many tests and then click the Use Selected button to add the test to the preference list.

A user can keep searching for and adding other tests in the Test Code Search window until all tests have been selected for their desired preference list.

Create a Client ID or Caregiver Preference List

To create a Client ID or Caregiver list Complete Steps 1, 2 or 3, and 4.

  • All fields in Step 1 with a blue dot next to them are required to save the list.
  • Step 2 section is to setup a Test Code List for Client ID.
  • Step 3 Section is to setup a Test Code List for a Caregiver.
  • Step 4 is where the admin user will be able to search for the applicable tests they wish to include in the preference list.
  • Clicking on the Search icon will open the Test Code Search window where the admin can search the selected Lab’s (as defined in Step 1) available tests.  It is recommend to search by description as this will help bring more results under the Step 2 section of the Test Code Search window.

  • Once the results have been displayed the admin user can select one or many tests and then click the Use Selected button to add the test to the preference list.

Edit/Delete a Test Code Preference List

To edit a Test Code Preference list click on the applicable link under the Lab column in the Facility, Caregiver, or Client ID sections.  Clicking on the link brings up the Test Code Preference List View window.

  • From this window an Admin user can add or remove tests associated to the Test Code Preference list.
  • To delete a preference list select the item you want to delete and click the Delete button for the section the list belongs to.
    • WARNING! Once you delete a Test Code Preference list it is permanently deleted from the system.
