Updating Demographics

When a Patient moves, or changes their home phone number, it may affect other Patients or Persons in the system if they have family members who are also seen at the practice or are listed as Guarantors, Emergency Contacts, or Subscribers. Rather than updating each person or patient individually to make the necessary changes, perform the following steps to Update Demographics across the board:

1. From the Accounts menu on the left, click on Patients.
2. Search for and select the desired Patient from the database.

The Patient form will open.

3. Click Update Demographics on the toolbar, as shown below.

The Update Demographics form will appear, as shown below.

4. Make the desired changes to the Address and/or Home Phone (or click Clear Phone if the person no longer has a land line at home).
5. From the list of Related Persons at the bottom of the screen, check the Update boxes only of those to whom the change also applies (i.e. the change may apply to spouse and children, but not to parent or sibling).
6. Click Update.

The Patient and all selected Related Persons will automatically be updated with the new information.

7. Save & Close the Patient form.
